Step into Bitcoin history with this extraordinary artifact from the dawn of the Ordinals era! Up for auction is an original paper wallet containing 10,000 Legacy Sats, created by Casey Rodarmor—visionary behind the Ordinals Protocol—during his groundbreaking workshop at Bitcoin++ in Austin in June, 2022. This event took place over six months before the first Ordinals inscription, making these sats a rare piece of pre-ordinals history.
Crafted for the workshop’s attendees, this paper wallet is one of just 41 produced. Each features a private key on the back and, on the front, a public key, address, sat amount (10,000 sats), pre-ordinal range, and a QR code—printed on a physical sheet that captures the raw, experimental spirit of that moment. These “Legacy Sats” represent a pivotal step in Rodarmor’s journey toward revolutionizing Bitcoin with the Ordinals Protocol. Only 2 of the original 38 unmoved UTXOs were transacted on the day of the workshop, and only 16 in total have ever been recovered and moved. The rest are purportedly gone forever, as Casey has deleted the private keys and over half of the paper wallets were thrown away at the workshop.
